Boyd Conservation Area is situated in the Humber River Valley on over 200 hectares of land. It is bordered by the Humber River to the south and West Humber Parkland to the north. The park is located on the west side of Vaughan.

History

The land that is now Boyd Conservation Area was first settled in 1824 by Timothy Street, who came from Vermont. John Boyd bought the land from Street in 1837. The Boyds cleared the land and built a farmhouse, barn and sawmill on the Humber River. In 1921, John Boyd's grandson sold the property to the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (MTRCA).

The MTRCA began acquiring more land in the area and by 1979 had assembled a 230-hectare (568-acre) parcel of land which included the original Boyd farmstead. The area was opened to the public as a conservation area in 1980.

Boyd Conservation Area is situated in Woodbridge, in Vaughan, Ontario. You can get there by taking Highway 400 North to Major Mackenzie Drive West. The Boyd Conservation Area will be on your right-hand side. There is a parking lot for guests.
